Faculty may find their exam times by using the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. Additionally the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses in which an exam is required by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes in the evening are scheduled during the regular class meeting times of the final exam weeks.

Please note that the Projected University Examination Schedule is intended as a rough guideline and that exam dates are subject to change.

Registration

Students are encouraged to consult the exam schedule online. It is important to keep in mind that the final schedule of exams can be altered at any time. Students should therefore inquire with their instructors for the exact time and date of their exam. Students should also print out the official list of questions to bring with them to the exam.

Students must also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and conditions of the exam in addition to the exam schedule. They are available on the website for each exam. Students acknowledge they have read and agreed to the conditions and terms of registration.

Exam sites try their best to accommodate participants who have special needs. The nature and degree of these requirements must be declared on the registration form, and then confirmed by an attestation of a doctor. The locations for the exam must respect and maintain confidentiality.

If a student is scheduled to take three exams scheduled on the same day, it is suggested to contact their department or instructor to arrange an exam to make up. It is possible to take three exams on the same day. However, this could lead to a high level of stress and impact the quality. Additionally, the professor may not be able to give a makeup exam on another day.

Before taking the test Students must prepare for the exam by studying their course material and practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that assesses the ability to read, speak, and write in German. The results of the exam are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded a Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate documents achievement of language level A1. This level is the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The examination is free of charge. Students are required to bring an ID that is valid for government purposes to the exam. Anyone who does not have a valid photo identification will be disqualified.
